Too many recruitment managers are just consultants who have previously been big billers. Management in itself is a whole new ball game and in fact most sales people, because of their very nature, don't have the correct soft skills. The most difficult thing about growing a business and running a successful office is dealing with staff.
No two people are managed in the same way... for some the proverbial stick and for others the carrot. Taking responsibility for your own fees and also for those of the guys you work with is no easy feat. There are only so many hours in the day and with people ask you questions all day you will need to know how best to manage your time.
If you feel you can take a team, motivate them, lead by example, train, develop and ear their respect you are well on your way.
